Research Track

Flow Research is evolving. New products emerge from ongoing research into distributed systems, AI, protocol infrastructure, and agent reliability. The research track is a fellowship option for contributors who want to explore new ideas before they become products.

What research looks like​

  • Investigating open problems in agent runtime design, security models, or verification systems.
  • Prototyping new features or product concepts.
  • Writing research notes, specifications, and analysis.
  • Publishing findings in the knowledge base for the community to build on.

How it connects to products​

Research feeds directly into product development. A research spike might lead to a new Harnessy evaluation method, a WorkStream decomposition strategy, or an entirely new product. Contributors on the research track work alongside product leads to identify what to explore next.

How to participate​

The research track follows the same contribution workflow as product work: submit proof, receive mentor review, earn points. The main difference is that output is exploratory — research notes, prototypes, and specifications instead of production code.
