Research Track
Flow Research is evolving. New products emerge from ongoing research into distributed systems, AI, protocol infrastructure, and agent reliability. The research track is a fellowship option for contributors who want to explore new ideas before they become products.
What research looks like
- Investigating open problems in agent runtime design, security models, or verification systems.
- Prototyping new features or product concepts.
- Writing research notes, specifications, and analysis.
- Publishing findings in the knowledge base for the community to build on.
How it connects to products
Research feeds directly into product development. A research spike might lead to a new Harnessy evaluation method, a WorkStream decomposition strategy, or an entirely new product. Contributors on the research track work alongside product leads to identify what to explore next.
How to participate
The research track follows the same contribution workflow as product work: submit proof, receive mentor review, earn points. The main difference is that output is exploratory — research notes, prototypes, and specifications instead of production code.
